Soooooo....my summer vacation is officially just about over. This is my last night before Back to School! I must admit that I am super stoked and exhausted as well. I met a few of my students and their families last Thursday at Open House. The week before school starts, I'm telling you that teachers don't have a life. I was in my classroom as early as 7am and didn't leave until after 8pm every night. I will say that I got my classroom just about exactly how I envisioned it. Super Cute!!! Pictures coming SOON :). Now as I spend this Sunday afternoon making labels for mailboxes and cubbies, writing my welcome letter to parents, and finishing up my lesson planning for the first week, I am filled with eagerness and excitement to get the year started. I spent much of the summer on DIY projects inspired by Pinterest & I am looking forward to putting them to good use!
Here are my classroom mailboxes!! You all know how expensive they can be, rather that are cardboard or wood. Well, I made mine for about $12!!! These are all boxes that I cut the flaps off of one end. I covered them with locker paper that I got from Ross for $5.99. I glued the boxes together with hot glue, then covered them! Simple & inexpensive, and if I must say so myself...SUPER CUTE!!!
I absolutely LOVE your DIY mailboxes! I'm teaching kindergarten for the first time this year, and have never needed mailboxes before and I don't want to pay for the pricey ones. Do you mind telling me what kind of boxes you used, how many boxes and how much they cost roughly? My email: jnreiling@gmail.com thanks so much! Have a great school year :)
